FIFA World Cup (On the trail again)
Related to country: Jamaica

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Well Jamaican football fans and hopefuls it is here again! The FIFA world cup football campaign is on and in full swing. We've just witnessed the demolition of the Guatemalan and Salvadorian teams by the hands (or more correctly feet) of our national footballers, both in the same week. A fascibnating achievement and a well-deserved one.

However one cannot help but wonder what has contributed to this dramatic turn around in the direction of the jamaican football programme. Is it that the return of Captain Horace Burrell to the helm of the JFF ship has inspired new confidence into the players or is it that the players themselves have developed the necessary discipline and confidence in themselves and in the football federation to take the sport to the next level?

what i am sure about though is that the signs are positive and i hope that the success will contine because if it does, it means that the future of Jamaican football is secure.
